The MC3440AP is a quad interface bus transceiver originally manufactured by Motorola Semiconductor for use in interfacing, buffering and driving digital bus lines. It contains four transceiver channels capable of bidirectional data transfer for general-purpose interface buses in digital systems. These devices were used historically to implement IEEE 488-style bus communications and other parallel digital interface applications where multiple drivers/receivers were required in a single IC.
